Completed the Seminar I

LERNET have completed the first seminar among policymakers of the Ministry of Education and Sports, and other related organisations on 25/04/2023 - 26/04/2023.

Participants are representatives and came from the Ministry of Education and Sports, 4 Universities, Departments of the Ministry of Technology and Communications, and 4 internet service providers (ISPs). Based on the discussion in the meeting, three points were agreed between the participants.

All participants are aware of the importance of the national research and education network or NREN.
All participants including the private ISPs agreed to help and support the establishment of LERNET.
All participants agreed on the draft agreement of the working group for writing a master plan for LERNET.

LERNET will link all Lao education and research organisations together to enable closer collaboration like critical applications, resource sharing, education and research activities across the country. By connecting to the global research and education network (TIEN Network), researchers, academicians and students in Laos would access to highspeed internet connections with multiple services like publications, research applications, lab tools, eduroam and much more.
